Witnesses and care of the elderly

my uber jw mother fell and broke her arm a couple of weeks ago.

first off no one told me until 5 days later when i called to check in with her.

there was someone staying with her at the time but that person was going to have to go elsewhere for a week.

Though it is especially heinous the way JW's treat the elderly, it is not uncommon for the elderly to be neglected. They just dont fill a need for most people. There are a few who enjoy helping others and can see through the stresses of being with those who are declining in years. Life rolls on and they are doing what the elderly did when they were younger, living. I take care of my dad (in his late 80's with chronic pain) and its not easy while dealing with my own health issues. In the end, witness or not, it is our family that we should be able to count on. Hope you can visit more often.

Why are alot of JW's Fascinated with Sci-Fi?

i am still in & gradually fading.

i have always wondered why alot of jw's that i know are really into alot of sci-fi stuff like star wars, i robot, x-men stuff etc.

i mean they take it another level with this fantasy stuff.

It's interesting that most Sci-fi is based on atheistic themes. You would wonder why somthing so "Ungodly" is so popular. Agreed, escapism where no God is referenced. not at all like a meeting!

What's "THE END" going to look like?

okay, so its no secret that many of us are hoping to see the downfall of the wtbts (or at least a mass exodous of jws away from them anyway).

i was wondering if you had any thoughts on what this might look like?.

we all know that most every jw has their doubts, large and small, but is afraid to speak due to the illusion of unanimity and self censorship .

How old were you when baptized?

i was baptized at the age of 11. like most of us, my commitment wasnt to honor god but rather i was gang pressed into the service of the wtbts.

and, at such a young age, it was impossible for me to appreciate the enormity of my actions.

honestly, how could i possibly have known any better?

Not born in but born next to. My family never took hold, I was first at 16. Was raised as if they were JW's but not, very halfassed not baptized. I sealed the deal. Dumb kid! The dominoes fell after that.

How Have You Changed Much In Attitude & Actions Since Leaving The Witnesses?

I sit on the floor in the corner with my knees drawn to my chest and my hands around my legs, my face buried in them and I rock back and forth saying, "I miss being an elder so much, life isn't worth living".

NOT!

I have no patience for fools anymore and I no longer wait on Jehovah to right wrongs. I get things done and don't let anything hinder me from doing what needs to be done.
